Elderly Man Hospitalized after Texarkana Pedestrian Crash at Summerhill Road and New Boston Road

Texarkana, Texas (March 28, 2019) – A man was hospitalized after a hit-and-run pedestrian accident that occurred at a Texarkana intersection on Tuesday morning, according to the authorities.
The incident happened at Summerhill Road and New Boston Road on Tuesday, March 26.
Police said an 85-year-old man in a wheelchair was trying to cross the intersection when a driver made a turn off New Boston Road and hit him.
The victim was transported to a hospital with minor scrapes. His wheelchair sustained major damage in the incident.
The driver who hit the man fled the scene after the incident. A witness followed the suspect and contacted the authorities.
Police later arrested the suspect, identified as Ciara Trotter, 29, of Texarkana. The report showed that Trotter is facing multiple charges including hit-and-run.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
