3 Injured in Crane Accident on I-35 in Bexar County

Bexar County, Texas – According to the police, three people, including a TxDOT worker, were injured in a crane accident Monday morning in southwest Bexar County.

The crash happened around 11:00 a.m., April 1, on Interstate 35 near Benton City Road.

Police said a TxDOT bucket truck was doing some work on a grassy median on the interstate when a worker tried to adjust the bucket truck. Moments later, the crane came crashing down, toppled over, and crushed a northbound SUV.

Two women in their 30s in the SUV were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The TxDOT worker, a man in his 60s, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officials said the bucket truck might have been situated on an uneven grassy surface, causing it to topple over.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
