Alejandro “Alex” Cervantes Killed in Lake Worth Two-Vehicle Crash on Boat Club Road at Rocky Point Trail; Dylan Molina Arrested

Lake Worth, Texas (November 28, 2021) – An off-duty Euless police officer was killed and three of his family members were injured Saturday afternoon in a DWI crash in Lake Worth, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 1:30 p.m., November 27, in the 4200 block of Boat Club Road at Rocky Point Trail, near Lake Worth High School.

Authorities said Dylan Molina, 26, of Lake Worth, was driving when he crashed into another car driven by detective Alejandro “Alex” Cervantes.

Molina fled the scene after the crash but was apprehended by a neighbor and bystanders.

Cervantes and three of his family members, a woman, and two children, were trapped in their car and had to be freed.

Cervantes was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.

The children were taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center with serious injuries.

Molina was taken into custody and is facing one count of intoxication manslaughter and three counts of aggravated assault.

The crash remains under investigation.
