Alvin Earl Smith Killed in Ector County Semi-Truck Accident on State Highway 302

Ector County, Texas (January 17, 2023) – The man who was killed on Saturday in a semi-truck crash in Ector County has been identified as 38-year-old Alvin Earl Smith, from Nacogdoches, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened just after midnight, January 14, on State Highway 302.

DPS said Smith was driving a 2007 Lincoln MKZ when he hit a semi-truck in the eastbound lane of the highway.

Smith was taken to Medical Center Hospital, where he later died.

The semi-truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
