Angela Bounds, Robin Galloway and Clarence Rhoden Hospitalized after Angelina County Crash on U.S.69 South at Carrell Road
Angelina County, Texas (April 11, 2019) – Three people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle collision in Angelina County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The crash happened at around noon Wednesday, April 10 on U.S.69 South at Carrell Road.
The DPS said a 2011 Kia passenger car driven by Angela Bounds, 37, of Lufkin, was stopped facing southbound waiting to make a left turn onto Carrell Road. A 2012 Toyota SUV driven by Robin Galloway, 59, of Zavalla, was also stopped behind the Kia.
A 2005 Chevrolet pickup operated by Clarence Rhoden, 79, also of Zavalla, was also heading southbound on U.S. 69 and failed to control speed and rear-ended the Toyota SUV.
The force of the impact caused the Toyota to slam into the Kia.
Rhoden was taken to Woodland Heights Hospital and then transferred to a Tyler Hospital. Galloway was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital with possible injuries.
Galloway was taken to Woodland Heights Hospital and then transferred to Hermann Hospital in Houston.
Their conditions were not immediately disclosed.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
