Argelia Benavides Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Northwestern Drive in El Paso

El Paso, Texas – A woman was killed Friday morning in a pedestrian accident in El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department.

The deadly accident happened just before 6:00 a.m., May 3, in the 1700 block of Northwestern Drive.

Police said 66-year-old Argelia Luzina Benavides was crossing the street, outside of a crosswalk, when she failed to yield right of way and was struck by a northbound car.

Benavides was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

No additional information was available.

The police are investigating the crash.
