Aristide Freddi Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Montecillo Boulevard in El Paso

Aristide Freddi Killed in West El Paso Pedestrian Accident on Montecillo Boulevard near Castellano

El Paso, Texas (May 23, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Sunday in west El Paso, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 9:00 p.m., May 16, in the 100 block of Montecillo Boulevard near Castellano.

Police said Aristide John Freddi of Santa Teresa, 29, New Mexico, fell into the outside lane of the roadway and was run over by a GMC Envoy driven by Alberto Escobar, 25, of El Paso.

Escobar fled the scene after the accident.

Freddi was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died.

Escobar was later arrested and was being held on a $500,000 bond on Monday, May 17.

The police are investigating the crash.
