Arthur Wright Arrested in Fatal Austin Hit-and-Run Crash on IH-35

Austin, Texas (August 4, 2023) – An Austin man has been arrested in connection to the hit-and-run crash that left four people dead on July 30 in Austin, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened in the 4700 block of South IH 35 service road southbound.

Police said a sedan and an SUV were involved in the crash.

Four people in the SUV were killed in the crash. A fifth person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The sedan driver, Arthur Wright, 35, of Austin, fled the scene on foot after the crash. He was found by police and arrested shortly after. He has been charged with four counts of intoxication manslaughter and four counts of failure to stop and render aid.
