Five Injured in Orange Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 87 at FM 3247

Orange, Texas (September 18, 2023) – Five people were injured on Sunday in a two-vehicle crash in Orange, according to a local news source.

The crash was reported just after 4:30 p.m., September 17, on southbound Highway 87 at FM 3247.

According to the report, a Nissan Sentra was stopped at a yellow light when it was rear-ended by a Chevrolet pickup truck.

There were five people in the Nissan; one was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition. A child in the Nissan was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in critical condition. The other occupants were taken to the hospital by ground ambulance in serious condition.

The two people in the Chevrolet were uninjured in the crash. The driver was ticketed for failure to control speed.

The crash closed Highway 87.

The crash remains under investigation.
