Faustino Garcia Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on SH 214 in Gaines County

Faustino Garcia Killed in Gaines County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 214

Gaines County, Texas (July 25, 2022) – The man who was injured in a two-vehicle crash on July 13 in Gaines County has died, according to the Texas DPS.

Faustino Garcia, 34, of Roswell, New Mexico, was pronounced dead on July 21.

The crash happened around 8:00 a.m., on State Highway 214.

DPS said Garcia was driving a 2013 Ford Taurus southbound on the highway while Jesus Manuel Ochoa, 55, of Seagraves, was in a Peterbilt semi-truck on the shoulder of the highway.

Ochoa was also traveling southbound and pulled out in front of Garcia, causing Garcia to crash into the semi-truck.

Garcia was taken to UMC, where he later died. 

Ochoa was uninjured in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
