Ashley Velasquez ID’d as Victim Killed in Fort Worth Pedestrian Accident on Gardenia Drive

Fort Worth, Texas (September 1, 2019) – The 1-year-old girl who was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday afternoon in Fort Worth has been identified as Ashley Castro Velasquez.

The fatal pedestrian accident occurred at about 3:15 p.m. Saturday, August 31 in the 3000 block of Gardenia Drive.

Authorities said Velasquez was hit by a vehicle on Gardenia Drive for an unknown reason.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and performed CPR on Velasquez. Despite life-saving measures, she did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believed a domestic dispute possibly occurred shortly prior to the accident. The driver of the vehicle and their passenger were arrested for questioning.

Police are still investigating the accident.
