Harris County, Texas (December 11, 2021) – Two people were killed Wednesday night in a plane crash in west Harris County, according to officials.

The deadly crash happened around 8:00 p.m., December 8, in the 17400 block of Katy Freeway.

Officials said a Piper PA-28 Cherokee took off around 7:50 p.m., on Wednesday from West Houston Airport and was headed to Pearland. Radar lost the plane’s signal around 8:00 p.m.

The plane was found wrecked and mangled in a field south of the freeway near the Barker Reservoir around 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 9.

A man was found ejected from the plane while a woman was still in the plane. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as 23-year-old Solomon Babalola and 20-year-old Apesin Oluwafunmilayo.

Babalola was found ejected from the plane.

No other details were available.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
