Bailie Renee Phillips Hit, Killed by Car on CR 4807 in Van Zandt County

Bailie Renee Phillips Killed in Van Zandt County Pedestrian Accident on CR 4807 near Edom

Van Zandt County, Texas (August 21, 2020) – A teenager was fatally hit by a car Tuesday afternoon in Van Zandt County, according to DPS.

The deadly accident occurred at about 4:00 p.m., August 18, on CR 4807, northeast of Edom.

DPS said Eddie Reed Wood, 63, of Ben Wheeler, was driving when he came around a curve and struck Bailie Renee Phillips, 18, of Ben Wheeler, who was walking in the roadway.

Phillips was taken to CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances in Tyler and was later pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
