Three Killed in Head-On Crash on SH 71 in Bastrop County

Three Killed, 2 Airlifted After Bastrop County Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 71

Bastrop County, Texas (May 19, 2020) – Three people were killed, and two others were injured Sunday night in a head-on collision in Bastrop County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal crash occurred around 11:40 p.m. May 17, on State Highway 71.

DPS said a 2001 Honda Accord was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when it crashed head-on into a 2010 Toyota Corolla.

Two people in the Corolla and one person in the Accord were killed in the crash. Their identities have not been released.

Two other people in the Accord were airlifted to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
