Bill McGaha Sr. Killed in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Eastex Freeway (US-59)

Houston, Texas (August 7, 2021) – According to a local news source, a 75-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Houston.

The fatal crash happened around 2:00 a.m., August 5, on the Eastex Freeway (US-59 inbound) at Greens Road.

According to the report, Cathy Ann Gilley, 51, was driving a Ford F-150 truck when she rear-ended a Chevy Trailblazer that was trying to exit the freeway.

The Trailblazer driver, 75-year-old Bill McGaha Sr., was pronounced dead at the scene. His three grandchildren, ages 8, 12 and 14 years old, were treated and released at the scene. Family members said McGaha Sr. had taken one of the children to the hospital for chest pains.

Gilley was taken to the hospital for treatment. She and her male passenger were intoxicated at the time of the crash, and she has been charged with murder.

The crash closed all the inbound lanes of the freeway at Greens Road for several hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
