Ervin Allen Killed in Navarro County Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate Highway 45

Navarro County, Texas (March 30, 2021) – One person was killed Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Navarro County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash was reported around 2:42 p.m. March 27, on Interstate Highway 45, north of SE CR 1010.

According to a preliminary investigation, a white 2017 Peterbilt truck tractor towing a white 2012 Fontaine flatbed semi-trailer was parked on the right northbound shoulder of the freeway. A northbound red 2007 Ford 500 passenger car veered into the right shoulder, for unknown reasons, and rear-ended the semi-trailer.

The Ford driver, Ervin Allen, 81, of Scurry, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
