11-Year-Old Boy Killed in Kingwood Two-Vehicle Crash on Loop 494 at Hamblen Road

Kingwood, Texas (April 21, 2023) – An 11-year-old boy was killed Wednesday evening in a car crash in Kingwood, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 6:30 p.m., April 19, in the 21700 block of Loop 494 at the intersection of Hamblen Road.

Police said a red Ford Mustang was traveling eastbound on Hamblen Road when it ran a stop sign or failed to yield the right of way while leaving a stop sign and was struck by a white Dodge Ram pickup truck that was traveling northbound on Loop 494.

The 11-year-old, who was a passenger in Mustang, was taken to HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood, where he was pronounced dead. The driver, a 46-year-old man, and the Dodge driver, a 60-year-old man, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The police are investigating the crash.
