Caleb Posadas Killed and Luis Posadas Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Southwest Freeway at Fountain View Drive

Houston, Texas (April 14, 2021) – A 5-year-old boy was killed early Sunday morning in a DUI crash that left his father injured in SE Houston, according to the authorities.

The deadly crash happened on April 11, at the intersection of Fountain View Drive and Southwest Freeway service road.

Police said a Nissan Sentra was traveling southbound on Fountain View Drive when it entered the intersection on a green light and was struck by a BMW 545i sedan that was traveling northbound on the Southwest Freeway service road.

The impact caused the Nissan to roll over.

The Nissan driver, Luis Posadas, and his 5-year-old son Caleb Posadas were taken to the hospital, where Caleb was pronounced dead. Luis had minor injuries.

Witnesses said the BMW driver, Sebastian Matta, 26, attempted to flee the scene on foot, but they stopped him.

Officers said Matta was intoxicated at the time of the crash and has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The crash remains under investigation.
