Allen Leachman Killed in Panola County Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 315

Panola County, Texas (April 4, 2022) – One person was killed, and another was injured Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Panola County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash occurred on April 1, on State Highway 315, west of Carthage.

DPS said a GMC Sierra pick up was traveling westbound on the shoulder of the highway at a slow rate of speed while Allen Leachman, 63, of Ruston, Louisiana, was driving westbound approaching the GMC.

The GMC turned left into the travel lane and was struck by Leachman’s vehicle.

Leachman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The GMC driver was taken to UT Health East Texas – Carthage for treatment.

The Texas DPS is investigating the crash.
