Brandon Kidd Killed in Motorcycle Crash on FM 1138 in Collin County

Brandon Kidd Killed in Collin County Motorcycle Crash at FM 1138 at CR 541

Collin County, Texas (May 17, 2023) – One person was killed Friday evening in a motorcycle crash in Collin County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:39 p.m., May 12, at FM 1138 at CR 541, south of Nevada.

DPS said a 2022 Suzuki GSX Motorcycle was traveling southbound on FM 1138 while a 2022 Nissan Kicks was traveling northbound. A 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee was at the stop sign at the intersection and was traveling westbound. The Kicks failed to yield the right of way to approaching traffic while turning westbound onto CR 541 and was struck by the motorcycle. The Kicks then struck the Jeep.

The motorcyclist, Brandon Kidd, 18, of Nevada, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

No other injuries were reported in the crash. 

The troopers are investigating the crash.
