Brett Jones Killed, Anna Agosto Injured in Hartley County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 87

Hartley County, Texas – One person was killed and another was injured Thursday evening in a two-vehicle crash on a snowy highway in Hartley County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:15 p.m., January 4, on US Highway 87, six miles southwest of Dalhart.

DPS said Garrett Henderson, 19, of Farwell, was traveling on US 87 at an unsafe speed for the roadway conditions when his Ford F-250 slid into oncoming traffic and hit a Nissan Altima.

The passenger in the Altima, Brett Jones, 23, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Anna Agosto, 22 of Tuscon, AZ, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
