Child Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Peachtree Street in Houston

3-Year-Old Child Injured in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Peachtree Street near Hirsch Road

Houston, Texas (February 20, 2023) – A 3-year-old child was injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Monday morning in northeast Houston, the Houston Police Department said.

The crash occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Peachtree Street near Hirsch Road.

According to the Houston Police Department, a 10-year-old and a 3-year-old were playing in the street when a silver Toyota SUV hit the younger child.

The child was transported to a hospital in an unknown condition.

The SUV driver did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene. The driver was last seen heading north on Peachtree.

Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
