25-Year-Old Cody Smith Killed in West Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 35

West, Texas (February 6, 2020) – A man was killed Thursday morning in a motorcycle accident south of West, DPS said.

The deadly accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on Interstate 35 near Wiggins Road.

DPS said Cody Smith, 25, of West, was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on the interstate when he hit an icy patch and lost control.

Smith was then hit by a Chevrolet pickup truck.

Smith was declared dead at the scene.

The crash backed up traffic until around 10:00 a.m.

An investigation is ongoing.
