Hector Murua Killed in Andrews County 18-Wheeler Crash on State Highway 115

Andrews County, Texas (May 12, 2021) – An Odessa man was killed Monday morning in an 18-wheeler crash in Andrews County, just 4 miles southwest of Andrews, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 11:28 a.m., May 10, on State Highway 115.

DPS said two 18-wheelers were traveling southwest on the highway when one of them, driven by Hector Murua, 42, of Odessa, slowed down to make a right turn and was rear-ended by the other 18-wheeler.

Murua was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
