James Mangum Killed in Explosion and Fire at KMCO Chemical Plant near Old Highway 90 in Crosby

James Mangum ID’d as Employee Killed in Crosby Explosion at KMCO Chemical Plant near Old Highway 90

Crosby, Texas (April 5, 2019) – The employee who was killed in an explosion and fire at a chemical plant in Crosby on Tuesday has been identified as James Earl Mangum, according to the authorities.
The incident happened at the KMCO chemical plant off old Highway 90 on Tuesday, April 2.
The authorities said a preliminary investigation showed that a chemical may have ignited and exploded.
Mangum died at the scene while two other employees were taken to a hospital for treatment of serious burns. The identities of the injured workers have not yet been released.
The authorities are currently working to find out the cause of the explosion.
