Miguel Romero Killed in Horizon City Pedestrian Accident at Darrington and Pawling; Oscar Solis Arrested

Horizon City, Texas – The 17-year-old who was killed Wednesday night in a hit-and-run accident in Horizon City has been identified as Miguel Angel Romero, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 6:00 p.m., February 7, at the intersection of Darrington and Pawling.

Police said Romero was hit by a red truck that then fled the scene. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. A GoFundMe has been made to support Romero’s family with funeral costs. You can donate here. 

The driver of the truck, 55-year-old Oscar Solis, was found within Horizon City limits and was taken to the El Paso County Jail where he was being held on a $120,000 bond. He was charged with intoxication manslaughter and Collision Involving Death.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
