Jared Nowell Killed, Jorge Rodriguez Injured in Midland County Two-Vehicle Crash at ECR 160 and FM 1379

Midland County, Texas (November 2, 2023) – One person was killed and another was injured early Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Midland County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:21 a.m., November 1, at the intersection of East County Road 160 and FM 1379.

DPS said a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jared Nowell, 40, of Early, Texas, was traveling westbound on ECR 160 while a 2013 Freightliner truck with a trailer, driven by Jorge Rodriguez, 52, of Hutto, Texas, was traveling northbound on FM 1379.

The Silverado entered the intersection and struck the Freightliner.

Nowell was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rodriguez was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
