Daniel Chapa ID’d as Driver Killed in Agua Dulce Crash on SH-44 near Nueces County and Jim Wells County Line

Agua Dulce, Texas (January 17, 2023) – The man who was killed in a traffic accident on Wednesday morning west of Agua Dulce has been identified.

Daniel Chapa, 30, died in the crash that happened just after 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, on SH-44 near the Nueces County and Jim Wells County line

According to a report by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Chapa was driving Honda Civic on SH-44 when he rear-ended an 18-wheeler that was in the inside lane.

The 18-wheeler was coming up on a crossover to turn when the accident occurred.

Chapa died at the scene.

The crash snarled traffic on SH-44.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
