Dekota Scott Killed in Head-On Crash on FM 1233 in Ward County

Dekota Scott ID’d as Teenager Killed in Ward County Crash on FM 1233 near Monahans

Ward County, Texas (June 17, 2023) – The teenager who died following a two-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning in Ward County has been identified as Dekota Mason Scott, 18, of Crane.

According to a report by the Texas Department of Public Safety, the deadly crash happened at about 5:35 a.m. Tuesday, June 13 13, on FM 1233, just 6 miles southwest of Monahans.

As per the DPS report, Scott was driving westbound on FM 1233 when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle drifted off the road.

Reportedly, Scott overcorrected and swerved into the eastbound lane, where he collided head-on with a semi-truck hauling a trailer.

Scott died at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the semi-truck did not suffer any injuries.

No other details were provided.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
