Doris Strong Killed in Two-Car Crash on FM 3053 in Gregg County

Doris Strong Killed, Marcus McKnight Injured in Gregg County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 3053 at Goforth Road

Gregg County, Texas (March 7, 2023) – A woman was killed Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash in Gregg County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on March 4, on FM 3053 at Goforth Road near Kilgore.

DPS said a Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Goforth Road when it failed to yield the right of way and was struck by a GMC Sierra that was traveling on FM 3053.

The Honda driver, Marcus McKnight, 47, of Cedar Hill, was taken to CHRISTUS Mother Frances in Tyler with non-incapacitating injuries. The passenger, Doris Strong, 68, of Dallas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the GMC were taken to Longview Regional Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
