Dovie Gunn ID’d as 66-Year-Old Rider Killed in Terrell Motorcycle Crash on FM 429

Terrell, Texas (August 1, 2019) – The motorcyclist who was killed in a crash that occurred on Sunday afternoon in Terrell has been identified as Dovie Gunn, 66, of Crandall, according to a police report.

The incident happened at about 3:37 p.m. Sunday, July 28, in the 500 block of North FM 429.

Police said Dovie was riding a 2018 Indian motorcycle southbound on FM 429 behind a 2014 Harley Davidson driven by Gary Gunn, 69, of Crandall. The two tried to overtake a slower -moving vehicle but as Gary saw an oncoming vehicle, he decided to slow down to get back into the southbound lane.

In the process, Dovie was unable to slow down in time and struck Gary’s motorcycle. This caused Dovie to lose control.

Dovie was transported to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, where she was pronounced deceased on Tuesday, July 30.

The police are investigating the incident.
