Driver Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on I-35 South in San Antonio

One Hospitalized after San Antonio Big Rig Crash on Interstate 35 South near Shepherd Road
San Antonio, Texas (January 24, 2019) – One person was hospitalized Tuesday night after a fiery two-vehicle crash on a San Antonio freeway near Atascosa, according to a local news release.
The crash took place at about 10:30 p.m. January 22, on Interstate 35 South near Shepherd Road.
Officials said a big rig hauling a load of wine glasses struck a car, lost control and rolled over. The truck then caught fire.
The car driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The big rig driver was uninjured in the crash.
Both the northbound and southbound lanes of the freeway were closed for several hours following the crash. The northbound lanes were reopened at about 5:15 a.m. while the southbound traffic was diverted at Shepherd Road and travel on the access road.
The authorities are investigating the crash.
