Nodhir Medhora Killed in Plane Crash at Mason Creek Community Center in Katy

Nodhir Medhora ID’d as Pilot Killed in Katy Plane Crash at Mason Creek Community Center on Kingsland Boulevard and Houghton Road

Katy, Texas (July 14, 2019) – The pilot who was killed Saturday morning in a plane crash in Katy has been identified as Nodhir Medhora, 69, of Houston, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal plane accident happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13 at the Mason Creek Community Center at Kingsland Boulevard and Houghton Road.

Authorities said a single-engine plane crashed into the building and burst into flames.

According to a report by the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane hit several trees before striking the community center and breaking apart. It crashed into a storage shed containing pool chemicals.

Medhora, who was the only person aboard the plane, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one on the ground was hurt following the crash.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
