Joel Olivas Killed in El Paso Pedestrian Accident at Tequila’s Discoteque on 810 Pendale, Gerardo Ayala Arrested
El Paso, Texas  (January 26, 2019) – The driver who was involved in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash which left 19-year-old Joel Olivas, of Horizon City, dead outside a Lower Valley bar last Saturday morning has been arrested, according to the El Paso Police Department.
The accident happened at about 2:13 a.m. January 19, in the parking lot of Tequila’s Discoteque, located at 810 Pendale.
Police said Olivas was walking in the parking lot when a pickup truck driven by Gerardo Ayala, 20, of Horizon City, struck him.
Olivas was killed in the crash.
Ayala fled the scene after the accident. He was located and arrested on Tuesday, January 22. He was jailed on a $30,000 bond.
The crash remains under investigation.
