Laurie Seehusen Killed in Orange County Car Crash on FM 1131 near Vidor

Orange County, Texas (July 16, 2021) – One person was killed Thursday night in a high-speed chase crash in Orange County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 4:30 p.m., July 15, on FM 1131, north of Vidor.

Authorities said Kade Davis was in a stolen pickup truck when he was spotted by a deputy of the Southeast Texas Regional Auto Theft Taskforce.

Davis was then pursued by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies.

Davis crashed into another car driven by Laurie Beth Seehusen, 58, of Vidor. Both vehicles ended up in a ditch along the highway after the collision.

Seehusen was killed in the crash.

Davis was taken to a Beaumont hospital and is in the custody of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. He was arraigned on a single charge of evading arrest, and his bond was set at $150,000.

Other charges, including involuntary manslaughter and auto theft, are pending against Davis.

The crash remains under investigation.
