Phillip Halterman Killed in Nolan County Three-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 20

Nolan County, Texas (November 9, 2021) – A 20-year-old man was killed Sunday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Nolan County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened just before 1:00 p.m., November 7, on Interstate 20, two miles west of Roscoe.

DPS said Phillip W. Halterman, 20, of Gainesville, was driving a 2017 Jeep Patriot behind a Freightliner truck, and both vehicles were slowing down due to traffic congestion on the eastbound side of the interstate.

Another Freightliner failed to control its speed and rear-ended the Patriot, pushing it into the other Freightliner in front of it.

Halterman was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

No other details regarding this crash were available.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
