Michael Johnson Injured in Ector County Two-Vehicle Crash at FM 554 and Cottonwood Road

Ector County, Texas – One person was killed and another was injured early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Ector County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 5:14 a.m., February 3, at the intersection of FM 554 and E Cottonwood Road.

DPS said a Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound on E Cottonwood Road when the driver disregarded a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a northbound Nissan Frontier.

The Nissan driver, 31-year-old Abraham Adrian Vargas, of Odessa, was taken to Medical Center Hospital where he later died. The driver of the Ford, 47-year-old Michael Vernon Johnson of Midland, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
