36-Year-Old Christopher Allen Jaynes Killed in Gregg County Car Crash on State Spur 502 near FM-1844

Gregg County, Texas (August 6, 2019) – A man was killed in a multi-vehicle wreck that occurred early Tuesday morning north of Longview in Gregg County.

According to the DPS, the crash was reported at about 6:42 a.m. on State Spur 502, just south of FM-1844.

DPS said Christopher Allen Jaynes, 36, of Ore City was driving a 2009 Ford Fusion southbound on State Spur 502 when he crashed into the back of a 2015 Hyundai Sonata.

The Ford then rolled onto its side and was hit by a northbound 2020 Kia Sorento that was preparing to make a left turn onto FM 1844.

Jaynes was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Kia was taken to Longview Regional Hospital and was in stable condition.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
