Driver Injured in DUI Crash at 24th Avenue and Sprague Street in Edinburg

Driver Hospitalized after Edinburg Crash at 24th Avenue and Sprague Street; Isa Marie Alonzo Arrested

Edinburg, Texas (October 12, 2023) – A driver was hospitalized after a DUI crash in Edinburg on Sunday evening, authorities said.

The crash happened at about 6:39 p.m. Sunday, October 8, at the intersection of 24th Avenue and Sprague Street.

Police said a blue passenger car and a white van collided in the area.

The injured driver told police that a vehicle jumped the cement curb on the turnaround and hit his vehicle on the right side.

The injured driver was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The driver of the white van, identified as Isa Marie Alonzo, did not need medical aid. She was arrested and charged with intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury.

Her bond was set at $45,000. She remains jailed.

Further details about the crash were not immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
