Driver Killed in Fiery Crash on State Highway 183 in Bedford

One Killed in Bedford Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 183 near Brown Trail
Bedford, Texas (March 27, 2019) – One person was killed early Tuesday morning in a fiery two-vehicle crash on a Bedford highway, according to a local news release.
The deadly collision occurred just after 2:00 a.m. March 26, in the eastbound lanes of State Highway 183, near Brown Trail.
As per the release, a tractor-trailer which was hauling rocks was traveling in the left lane of the highway while an SUV was traveling in the right lane. The SUV then cut across several lanes of traffic in a try to exit the highway and was hit by the truck.
The force of the impact caused the SUV and the cab of the rock-hauler to burst into flames.
The SUV driver was killed in the crash.
Eastbound Highway 183 was shut down for several hours following the crash. The lanes were later reopened.
An investigation is ongoing.
