Eduardo Lopez-Escarcega Killed in Car Crash on SH 18 in Winkler County

Eduardo Lopez-Escarcega Killed in Winkler County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 18

Winkler County, Texas (August 15, 2023) – One person was killed Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Winkler County, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened on August 13, on State Highway 18.

According to the report, Eduardo Lopez-Escarcega, 32, was driving a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on the highway when he veered into the northbound lane and struck a 2003 Freightliner truck with a trailer driven by Sergio Luna-Manjarrez, 48.

Lopez-Escarcega was pronounced dead at the scene.

Luna-Manjarrez was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
