75-Year-Old Woman on Wheelchair Injured in San Angelo Pedestrian Accident at Harris and Main

San Angelo, Texas (December 4, 2021) – An elderly woman in an electric wheelchair was struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in San Angelo, according to the police.

The accident happened on December 3, at the intersection of Harris and Main, in front of Shannon’s downtown hospital.

Police said the 75-year-old woman was crossing the street in an electric wheelchair from the Lowe’s parking lot into the Shannon parking lot using a crosswalk when she was struck by a green midsize SUV.

The victim was taken to Shannon with back, head and neck pain.

The SUV driver was uninjured and received a warning for failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian at a crosswalk.

An investigation is ongoing.
