Fabian Alonzo Killed, Winter Chamber Injured in Lubbock Motorcycle Accident on County Road 2500

Fabian Alonzo ID’d as Victim Killed in Deadly Motorcycle Crash Saturday morning on County Road 2500 (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) and County Road 7200 (98th Street) in Lubbock

Lubbock, Texas (April 14, 2022) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died Saturday morning following a traffic collision just outside Lubbock as Fabian Alonzo, 41, of Lubbock.

The tragic accident occurred at around 7:25 a.m. Saturday, April 9, on County Road 2500 (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) and County Road 7200 (98th Street).

According to the authorities, Alonzo was riding a motorcycle northbound on County Road 2500 (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) when he rear-ended a 2017 Jaguar passenger vehicle that was traveling eastbound on County Road 7200 (98th Street).

Alonzo, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown off the bike upon the impact. He was transported to University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Jaguar driver, 28-year-old Winter Ashley Chamber of Lubbock, was transported to Covenant Medical Center in unknown condition.

Both eastbound and westbound traffic has a stop sign. It remains unclear whether either driver committed a traffic violation.

Conditions were dry and clear at the time of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
