Derek Cormier, Geoff Carr and 15-Year-Old Injured in Liberty County Four-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 105

Liberty County, Texas (December 1, 2020) – Two people were killed, and three others were injured in a four-vehicle crash Sunday night in Liberty County near Moss Hill, according to authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 8:00 p.m., November 29, on State Highway 105 at the Trinity River Bridge.

Deputies said a 56-year-old Cherokee County man was driving a 2020 BMW when he veered into oncoming while attempting to pass another vehicle and crashed head-on into an eastbound 2009 Ford Mustang driven by a 72-year-old man from Beauregard Parish, Louisiana.

The impact caused the BMW to go airborne and go over the guardrail. It came to rest about 25 feet down on its roof.

A 2020 Chevy Equinox, driven by Ashley Perimon, 32, and a 2004 Chevy Silverado driven by Derek Cormier,52, of Cleveland, were also involved in the collision.

The BMW driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Mustang driver was taken to HCA Houston in Cleveland, where he was pronounced dead.

Two passengers in the Chevy Equinox, a 15-year-old girl and Geoff Carr, 34, were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston with serious injuries.

Cormier was also taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston with serious injuries.

Perimon and an 8-month infant were uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
