Johnson County, Texas (July 1, 2021) – Two Cleburne High School graduates were killed Thursday evening in a plane crash in rural Johnson County, according to the authorities.

The deadly crash was reported around 9:29 p.m., June 24, about a mile from County Road 1123.

Authorities said an American Aviation AA-1A crashed earlier in the day but was not reported for several hours. The wreckage was found near a private oil field road.

The pilot, Nick Duran, 20, and his passenger, Felipe Lopez, 20, were killed in the crash.

The aircraft was owned by Duran, who was a cadet at the United States Air Force Academy.

No other details regarding the crash were provided.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
