Gage Allen Salsman Killed in Wichita Falls Motorcycle Crash at Kell Blvd and Scott Street

Wichita Falls, Texas (April 1, 2021) – The motorcyclist who was killed Tuesday afternoon in a fiery crash after leading multiple law enforcement agencies on a high-speed chase across Clay and Wichita counties has been identified as Gage Allen Salsman, 28, of Henrietta, according to authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 4:00 p.m., March 30, at the intersection of Kell Blvd and Scott Street.

Clay County Sheriff said officers tried to pull over Salsman in Henrietta, but he sped away in his motorcycle, and the officers pursued him. The chase reached speeds of up to 105 mph on Highway 287. During the chase, Salsman slowed down and threw things away from the motorcycle.

The pursuit continued west into Wichita County, where Salsman ran a red light at the intersection and hit the front left side of an SUV.

The impact caused the motorcycle to catch fire.

Salsman was killed in the crash.

A pregnant person who was in the SUV was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Other people also in the SUV sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The Texas DPS is investigating the crash.
