Hallet Johnson Killed in Gun Barrel City Pedestrian Crash on South Gun Barrel Road

Gun Barrel City, Texas (July 16, 2019) – A man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Gun Barrel City, according to police.

The crash occurred at about 3:25 a.m. Saturday, July 13, in the 600 block of South Gun Barrel Road.

Police said Hallet Edward Johnson, 64, of Barrel City was sitting in the roadway, for unknown reasons, when a northbound vehicle struck him.

Johnson sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the involved vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene.

Police are investigating the crash.
