Hermaleen Haney ID’d as Granbury Woman Killed in Riesel Crash on State Highway 6

Riesel, Texas (June 18, 2019) – The Granbury woman who was killed Sunday evening in a head-on collision near Riesel has been identified as Hermaleen Haney, 29.

The deadly accident happened just after 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 16 on State Highway 6, just south of Riesel.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Dodge pickup was traveling northbound on Highway 6 when its driver lost control and drifted off the roadway. The Dodge then crossed the center divider and slammed into a Buick that was being driven southbound by Haney.

Haney was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dodge driver and a passenger in the SUV were injured in the crash. Their names and conditions were not immediately disclosed.

Wet conditions may have played a role in the accident.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
