Houston, Texas (September 26, 2019) – A homeless couple was killed in an alleged hit-and-run accident Tuesday night in southwest Houston, according to a local news source.

The accident took place under an overpass near Beechnut and the West Sam Houston Tollway.

Police said a driver was fleeing from another accident when he lost control, went across a median and then onto the embankment where he hit couple who was sleeping.

The couple had recently lost their home.

The driver left his car at the scene and fled on foot.

A warrant for Jordache Lenton’s arrest was filed Wednesday. He is wanted on two charges of failure to stop and render aid, resulting in death.

Lenton was charged with kidnapping after he allegedly held a 15-year-old boy against his will over the summer. He was accused of sexually assaulting the teen over a period of two months. He was out on a $60,000 bond in that case when he crashed Wednesday.
