Three Killed in Coleman County Plane Crash near Lake Coleman

Coleman County, Texas (February 20, 2020) – Three people were killed in a plane crash Thursday morning in Coleman County, according to the authorities.

The crash was reported around 6:00 a.m. in the vicinity of Coleman.

Authorities said a Beechcraft BE20 Super King Air with tail number N860J, occupied by three people, had taken off from Abilene Regional Airport at 5:40 a.m. The plane was flying at 12,000 feet and traveling at 224 mph when it crashed. The plane was attempting to return to Abilene Regional Airport after the pilot had reported electrical problems.

The wreckage was found west of Lake Coleman. There were no survivors.

The NTSB is investigating the crash.
